THE DUCHESS

IMO, The Duchess is a movie for women, but I can't really understand it.
Several things in The Duchess really bothered me.
Also, in this article, I've included some observation on the makeup in this movie.

Several things in The Duchess really bothered me.
ONE.
Georgiana(G) married a man she barely knew, but expected him to love her without her own attempt. Did she ever love the duke William(W)? And how?
TWO.
W said he loved G in the way he understood love, but why couldn't he stop hurting her by having affairs with other women especially with Elizabeth(E) whom betrayed G's friendship?
THREE.
E rejected W's flirting. E taught G to realise G's feelings towards Charles(C). E helped G to feel the different way to be loved from the way W loved G. Was E a friend or a foe? If she's a friend, how could she hurt G by having affair with G's husband in order to be with her own kids? But if she's a foe, why did she insisted to follow G to countryside when G was delivering illegitimate child?
FOUR.
G brought E home when she learnt her situation disregard E was the woman W was trying to seduce. G could tolerate other women going to bed with W but not E as E was her only friend. G named her illegitimate daughter Eliza which was seemed to be short for Elizabeth. G allowed herself to live with W & E until she passed away. She even blessed W & E to get married. Why such a change for G? Did she realise her suffering was caused by the unequal status between men and women? Or any other reason that I can't figure?
FIVE.
W said he, too, abhored this whole thing. W envied the kids, how wonderful to be that free. W could have ended C's political path and even destroy his life, but he didn't. Why? Did he, too, hope C would become the prime minister and one day make changes to the sicken society which brought the suffering to them?
These are the questions, perhaps even in the real life today.

p.s. I noticed Kiera's makeup in this movie.
There were basically 4 makeup looks.
When she was sad, normally her smokey eye shadow were dark in color.
When she was in love, her smokey eye shadow were in pink and coral.
When she was supporting the party in the public, she kept her makeup clean and her eyeliner thin and sharp, and she looked confident.
When she was socialising in the parties or attending any events in the evening, she would put on a lot more colors especially blusher, perhaps in order to look more sultry.
How amazing that makeup can help a person express her emotions better!
