It was a wonderful first day in Santorini. As we walked and talked, I suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude (as I always do when I visit a beautiful country for the first time). When I was young, my family never had much. We never got to travel together as a family of 4. Not even to Malaysia. I'm extremely grateful that I get to be here for my honeymoon. Something I'd never dare dream when I was small. Something I'll never take for granted. Today, hand in hand with you in Santorini. I've never felt more fortunate. "My life has been better since I met you." I was hypnotized by today's sunset on the yacht. It was breathtaking. Although, I did tell him that sometimes when I look at sunsets, I feel a little sad. Because it feels like so many sunsets have come and gone in my life, but I feel like I've never done much with it and lived life as full as I'd like to. 1 entire post goes to food in Venice. Because, everyone's about food. People who knows me knows I'm all about food (im such a greedy rat). And Venice has plenty of good food! And because GTMS (good things must share)! ENJOY! I surely did!! 1) I tre Mercanti – Tiramisu is amazing. It's freshly made everyday! It's the best I've had. Deon say it's his second best. The best one he had was in Lake Garda! 2) Cicchetti are found everywhere in Venice. I wish i could try everyone of them in every Trattoria. Too much to eat, too little time! 3-5) Trattoria Antiche Carampane – Cosy place that serves really fresh and yummy seafood. The grilled Fish of the day took 30mins, but it was so worth the wait! I'm so gonna miss this fish! 6-8) Trattoria Bar Pontini – The best meal we had in Venice! We were lucky it was right next to our hotel. We saw the insane queue when we walked by at 7pm. So we went in at 10am the next morning to make a reservation for dinner, because I couldn't stop thinking about it the whole night. Lol! 9) Suso – thanks to my brother and sister-in-law for hardselling this place to us. They said it's the best ice cream they've ever had. And now it's ours too! (Thanks Wayne & Kelly) We had it twice, was struggling if we wanted a third. But we were seriously too stuffed. Now i kinda regret! 7hrs hike, 26491 steps, 16km, 1km alleviation later we finally completed our hike today. Today's hike was one of the toughest we've had. We lost our way, gone off course (bcos of my brilliant idea), and hiked in the wilderness aimlessly for an hour. Then we went on all fours to clamber up an extremely steep mountain filled with gravel, sand and loose rocks. When we thought it was over, we had to walk along the face of the mountain, the only thing preventing us from falling off 2000km down was a metal cable. BUT.. We survived. And the reward is always sweet. Because the process is so darn arduous. But really, that's exactly what we love about hiking. No matter how beautiful a photo we take, it'll never beat the experience of climbing all the way there to see it ourselves. A real sense of accomplishment! Thank you @deon.woo for braving your life to partake in this adventure that I love (and now you too). I never expected my honeymoon to be so exciting and adventurous! Because not many people would do this with me. Despite the long and tough day, I would never have wanted to do this with anyone else. I'm so glad I chose you. Today, we took it easy and went around this small town to explore and take pictures. We are in awe of this town! There are beautiful, colourful flowers everywhere! Bees buzzing and butterflies fluttering everywhere! The sky here looks amazing too, fluffy clouds dotting the deep blue sky. Such happy vibes! I'm also extremely happy (wooray!) that I manage to capture such macro close up of the butterflies and bees. I must have stood there for 10mins just trying to get these shots! I have never seen butterflies and bees this up close before. Butterflies' got such tiny eyeballs! And bees are so furry! #LagoDiCarezza marks the end of our hiking trip, sadly. We saved the best for last though. No doubt, beautiful lakes may be a dime a dozen, but Carezza Rainbow Lake, true to it's name, when the sun ray hits the water, you see all sorts of colours being radiated from the lake, like there's hidden rainbow underneath those water. I was completely mesmerized by Carezza Rainbow Lake. Deon has to peel me away before I agree to leave.
